No, I do not believe that it is right to do such a thing. The child has rights it is still a human being and It has the right to live its own live not one someone already had planned out. It is wrong.

I do not believe it is ethical to
conceive a child that meets specific genetic requirements just because, but if it is used for common good and not just to do it just to do it. I believe it's alright if it's used as help as a match to be a donor, but not just to do it just because you want your child to have certain genes and traits just because.
Depending on if you feel like paying a bunch of money for making a child perfectly fit for your own benefits.I personally don't think its right to personalize your child.

I think its ok to geneticly enginer your child. because if you want your child to be smarter or more advanced than others. because some kids get maid fun of because there slower. some parents dont want people to make fun of there child.
WILLIAM BROBST
No, I don't think it is right to genetically engineer your child. I don't think it is because your child is then the person you want them to be, and not the person he/she wants to be.
COREY ARMSTEAD
Changing the genetics of a child is not a good idea in most cases. In rare cases where maybe the kid is going to have a disease or some sort of harmful trait it may be acceptable to go in and change so the kid is safe.To change a kid to look like how you want it is not right in my opinion.A parent should want their child the way they are.
KAYLEIGH CANTER
I do not believe it is right to choose a child's traits. A child is born how it is supposed to be... it is selfish and unethical to alter a child for medical or apearance purposes.
J'Von: I DONT FEEL THAT ITS ETHICAL TO CONCIEVE A CHILD AGAINST GODS WILL. PERIOD.
Bruce Brantley
I do not think that you should be able to conceive a child that meets specific genetic requirements at any time, it is just wrong and unethical.
Sammy Moore
No i don't think that is good. Because that person has a life to and they need to be just like the rest of us so to me that is messed up.
AUSTIN FRUTIG
At first i felt that it was wrong to genetically engineer a child. I always felt it was God's decision to create the child the way he would want him/her to be.
But when I thought about it for a while longer, I changed my mind. I feel it would be acceptable if it was used to match as a donor for bone marrow and such. Or perhaps there was a trait that the parent had that would corrupt the child in some way like, aggression, bi-polar , Health issues, etc.
Virginia Massey
No I don't think it's good to change the child's genetics because changing the genetics could give the child a birth defect or even a disease that might kill them

i that is wrong to try and play god with a child's genetics. people should be comfortable with what they are given and accept it as a blessing because there are many people who would love to have children no matter if they had physical limitations or whatever the case may be. and for people to try something like that i think is selfish.

I do not believe that it is ethical to change the natural genetics of a person before birth. If we do this we would not be allowing the human race to naturally grow, therefore the way I am right now would be different. Everyone should like and respect themselves and eachother the way they are. I think if we start changing children before they are born now it will go further into the wrong direction and create many problems. Its best to let things go the way they have gone.
Oreon Jones
i think if thats what you want do what you feel is right.
Jacob Waller
I believe it is not right to genetically engineer a child. If you do, it will alter the child's personality and everything about the child before he/she is even born. It denies him/her the basic freedom of being able to choose his/her own way in life and destroys his/her belief in self identification, knowing that his/her identification was chosen before he/she was even born.
Charnelle Jennings
No I don't think that it should be.
I don't believe it's ethical to have a baby born to someone else's standards.

No i dont think it is ethical and the only situation i would do this in is to mabey choose the gender of my kid but everything happens for a reason. so i wouldnt genetically engineer my child.
if it would save my child, i would do what ever it would take. Any parent who cared for their kid would do the same. it all comes down to would you let your child die or do what ever it takes to save your child's life.
-CLINTON CRALLIE
KP-I BELEIVE THAT IT IS ETHICAL BECUASE FOR THOSE WHO THEMSELVES CANT CONSEIVE A CHILD THEY CAN MAKE THE PERFECT CHILD IT GIVES THOSE WHO CANT DO IT A WAY THAT THEY CAN
ELMER J
I THINK IT IS ETHICAL AS LONG AS IT DOESN'T GET OUT OF HAND. I MEAN IF YOUR CHILD NEEDS SOMETHING TO LIVE, IT SHOULD BE GIVEN TO THEM. IF YOU JUST WANT YOUR SON TO HAVE BLUE EYES THEN YOUR TAKING UNNESSARY PROCEDURES.
Breanna Williams
Do you believe that is it ethical to conceive a child that meets specific genetic requirements? In what situation might you consider it?
As far as ethical goes, no. But everyone is human and ethics aren't should, but don't always play a part in decisions being made.It isn't ethically right that someone plays the role of God and decides what happens to a child. I can't say I would consider this in any situation, because I am not a greedy person, but the again, I can't speak for everyone.
I think it's wrong to do something like that. Why would you make a child to save another one.
The only way I would do it is ti find out the gender. If I had two boys and wanted to have another one and the % of having a disease is high why have another boy when you can say I want a girl. That way your child is healthy

I don't have the right to anwer this qustion. On the up side it could help with gencic desies that come from our fammiy. For exp altzheimers or hart disorders maybe even ahollishms could be wiped cean. Also if your fammiy has a bad temper that couldn't be an issue if you wipe ot that geane. But on the down side the children would be them selfs. It means that it's impoassabull to figure out who you are when your parntrs has made your genic choses like exp. Sexuaity or even your tanices what you like and dislike. How can you be yourself when some one pick your chader for you. This isn't a fiction book it's a haumain being. Lucky Charms
Jamal Owens
I do not believe that is right thing to do. But i think you should be able to pick what sex they are.If a child need something from someone to stay alive they should get It!
Teena Roberts
no, because i dont think know one will wont their insides given too someone eles.Or someone might say yeah, if they are about to die and someone needes orgens to live.
Sarah Dalton.
i don`t believe that people should be able to produce a child for their own liking, i should not matter what your child looks like . but i do believe in the genetic making for medical reasons. if someone can saves someones life without risking their own life. then why not?
TIMOTHY L. OYSTER
I don't think that it is ethical. I think it's selfish. Why even name the kid if you're going to kill it? That is not God's will for any living being! Either have another child and don't do anything to it, or, don't have another child at all.
What is the world coming to these days? T_T
EMILY-REBECCA
I do not believe it is right to construct a child like that. As a Christian, I believe God is the only creator and we sehouldn't mess with his handy work. Even parents who cannot concieve a child shouldn't consider it. There are plenty of children out there up for adoption that are in serious need for a home.
Really, hearing about this book sickens me. Why would parents have a second child just to slowly kill her? They need to live with the fact that when it's Kate's turn to go, it's her time to go. There are other aptions than the one they chose.
MARTEZ DANIELS
No i do not believe that having a child to be to use for genetic requirements because its not right that child has a right to live a regular life as one born normal. and i believe that whatever god gives you in life just let be.
AARON SOWICK
I don't believe that it is right to "design" a child. To me it is just wrong to change a child from the way God intended him or her to be. Even parents don't have the right to decide on the plan for a child's life . That right is only for the child. I would feel very used if I new that I was born only to save someone else. That is a choice that I would want to make myself instead of being forced into.
SARAH DAVENPORT
I do believe it is ethical to conceive a child that meets specific requirements, as long as you do not use the child to help someone with health problems or plan what the child's life will be like. I think that if you do conceive a child that way it should be so you can raise the child in a good way, love it, & let it live life the way a child should.
I THINK THAT IS FINE LONG AS YOU CAN DEAL WITH KNOWING THE FACT THAT THE CHILD WAS MADE IN A LAB.
Tremaine O'Neal
No,I don't believe that they should do that because every child should have a right to give up a body part or something. It is there body and it's there decision.
Ashala Simon
I feel like, since thats what her parents put her on earth for then, she might as well deal with it, its her sister thats she is doing it for! i can see if it was for a complete stranger! But its selfish if she sue her parents. They are the ones that put her here, on the earth!
I don't think its right. Some things should be left alone. It should be a surprise like Christmas presents. Kevin Corley
I BELIEVE DAT IT WAS WRONG FOR THE DR. TO CHANGE THE BABIES GENDER, B CUZ DA BABY COULD OF HAD N PROBLEM WIT ITS ORGAN SYSTEM N MIND AN OTHER THINGS
Mercedes Anderson
No, I do not believe that people should have the right to determine what kind of life the child should live. By changing the child's DNA then you are changing any and all possibilities that child could have had in future times. And i also believe that it seems so unnatural.
I believe that it is ok if you are trying to help save somebody, or it will benefit a lot of people
AMANDA ADLER
I THINK THAT THEIR IS NOTHING WRONG WITH CONCEIVING A CHILD FOR GENETIC REASONS AND I THINK THAT SHE SHOULD BE HONORED TO BE ABLE TO HELP HER SISTER OUT AND TO BE THE ONE TO SAVE HER LIFE. TO BE PUT ON THIS EARTH TO HELP SOMEONE SHOULD BE SEEN AS A BLESSING NOT AS A BOTHER. AND TO GO AS FAR AS TO SUE HER PARENTS IS RIDICULOUS. THAT IS HER SISTER AND WEATHER SHE WAS MADE FOR THAT OR NOT SHE SHOULD STILL HELP HER AND LOVE HER ENOUGH TO SAVE HER LIFE!!!
Mercedes Anderson
WHY CANT WE ALL JUST BE BORN THE GOOD OLD FASHION WAY!
Haver Rhym
Is ethical and moral the same thing?
On one hand i think that its not moral, because to me babies are made with love and u should love anything u make even with the disorders. But anything is ethical in the year 2007/2008!
TIFFANY WAKEFIELD
I don't think it's alright because how could you do that to a child its whole life. The surgery and everything. It's basically like it's not your child, you're just using them. I mean yeah the other child had cancer and all, but thats the way God intended her to be. Everyone dies, or has at least something wrong with them. No one is perfect. So I would say if your child has cancer or what ever, let them live their life like nothing is wrong with them. Why add hurt to another person?
BLAH>>BLAH>>BLAH!!
CARRIE HALL
No,I do not believe it is right to make a child with certain genetic requirements because basically that child is born for one reason and one reason only and that's not right. That child has all the rights of any other human especially over their on body.
